Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim on Friday presided over the official opening of the Burnt Forest Revolving Fund Pharmacy.

The pharmacy has been opened through partnership between the county and USAID/Ampath.

Speaking during the event, the Governor said the same pharmacy will be replicated in 8 county health facilities with plans to open more.

Chelilim said the pharmacies will help ensure locals get services closer to them pointing out that through the revolving fund pharmacies, locals with chronic diseases will now be able to access drugs at a subsidized price.

He thanked the Ampath team for making it possible to open the pharmacies within a short period.

It is only last week that the Governor held a meeting with the Ampath team.

He called on all partners involved in the project to ensure the community benefits from services rendered through the model.

Prof Sylvester Kimaiyo from Ampath was also present during the event.

Other facilities that will also have an operational revolving fund pharmacy include the Uasin Gishu County Hospital, Ziwa Hospital, Turbo Sub County Hospital, Pioneer Health facility, Huruma Sub County Hospital and Soy Health facility.
