Sholei Hits at Chiefs and Police For Working With Illegal Brewers

Uasin Gishu woman Representative and National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Gladys Boss Sholei, has hit at chiefs and police officers for working with those involved in the sale of illegal brew.

Speaking during Mashujaa day celebrations , Shollei blamed police officers for taking bribes and allowing illicit brewers to continue with their business.

“It is you chiefs and police officers who collude with illicit brewer. The chiefs know exactly where the operations are undertaken. Police officers are given bribes in exchange for continued operations by the illicit brewers,” said Shollei noting that citizens undertake citizen arrest if the police are not able to do it.

She called on governor Jonathan Bii to talk to the county officers ,famously known as Kanjo, to stop criminalizing hawkers and taking their business stocks.

” If someone is wrong, do not take their stocks instead fine them . The mind of the County officers must change. Their job is not to terrorize small businesses operations.If you continue harassing hawkers I will come for myself.” she said.

On matters athletics promised to work in coordination with governor Chelilim to implement the Kenya Kwanza plan.
