Elgeyo Marakwet Assembly Approves Governor Rotich's Cabinet

The Elgeyo Marakwet county assembly on Wednesday unanimously approved the appointment of all County Executive Committee (CEC) members.

The assembly, acting on a report by appointments tabled by Majority Leader Stephen Cheruiyot, the members approved the names paving way for their gazettment and subsequent assumption of office.

The 10 were nominated by Governor Wisley Rotich in October before forwarding their names to the County Assembly for vetting.

Those approved are Mr. Alphaeus K Tanui who will be incharge of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Edwin Kibet Seroney, Agriculture, Livestock & Irrigation and Mr Edwin K. Kibor who will head Education and Technical Training.

Michael K Kibiwott will head Health services docket while Jason K Lagat is the CeC Water, Environment and Climate Change.

Lawyer Thomas K Maiyo is the new Lands, Physical Planning, Housing & Urban Development head while Mrs Emmy J Kosgey is tasked with Roads, Public Works and Transport.

Robert K Kangogo from Airport Sacco is the new co-operatives, Trade, Industrialization, Tourism and Wildlife while Mrs Purity J Koima will head Sports,Youth Affairs, Culture, Children and Social Services and Mrs Monica Jeptum Rotich as Public Service, Devolution, Administration, Communications, ICT & E-governance CEC member.
