Governor Wesley Rotich team of 10 CECMs assumed their respective offices after their predecessors officially handed over.

There was a light moment at the County Treasury when immediate former Agriculture CECM Anne Kibosia met the incoming Public Service Management CECM Monicah Jeptum Rotich, whom they served together in the first devolution government of 2013-2017.

The duo exchanged pleasantries before county employees as another immediate former CECM Leah Pamela joined them.

Representing the Governor, his Deputy Prof Grace Cheserek alongside County Secretary Paul Chemmuttut took a tour of the departments to witness the brief handing over ceremonies in various offices.

At the Finance and Economic Planning department which is the heartbeat of the government operations owing to it’s vital role in facilitating the rest of the departments, there were elaborate discussions as the outgoing CECM Kevin Biwott handed over to the new sheriff _Mr Alphaeus Tanui.

Tanui was briefed on the situation at the Treasury and furnished first hand information about what could be in tray for him at the department.

Some of the issues included low revenue base and migration of staff from manual payroll to the Integrated Personnel Payroll Database IPPD.

In attendance were officials from the directorates of the Revenue, Economic Planning & Budgeting, Accounting Services and procurement.
Prof. Cheserek asked the Finance CECM to always implement a “clear desk policy” in his office.

The government is keen towards implementing a Circular from Council of Governors COG requiring all county governments to hire the care givers on Permanent and Pensionable terms.
“The responsibilities of an ECD teacher are so enormous and we shall have a discussion around this,” said Professor.
At the Agriculture department, Kibosia said she was elated to have served the county government for two consecutive terms uninterrupted.
“We have done our best for our people and the new team can carry on from where we left. I will be available for any consultation,” said Kibosia who served in Tourism before moving to Agriculture.
