Try Changing the Constitution and We will Change You-Embakasi East MP Babu Owino

Embakasi East Member of parliament Babu Owino has warned those trying to change the constitution.

Through his official Facebook page he wrote “Try changing the CONSTITUTION and WE will CHANGE YOU.No time for jokes. Will take no prisoners,”

According to Fafi MP Salah Yakun some UDA lawmakers are working on a constitutional amendment bill to replace the two-term limit of 75 years.

The Kenyan constitution only allows one to vie for two terms that are five years each.

Owino who was elected on the ODM party ticket is a staunch supporter of opposition leader Raila Odinga and retired president Uhuru Kenyatta.

He is a big critic of president William Ruto’s government.

His post received mixed reactions here are some of their comments.

Prisfil says “It will be changed right under our noses. Campaigns will be held to usher support from Kideros, Obados,etc. Ghost workers will threaten Johos, etc. Kenya,”

Titus Musyoki says “But Uhuru and Raila wanted to change the same constitution and I never heard you complaining,”

Jamall Nasir says “It’s time for us to defend our constitution even if we have to go resist way we are ready,”

Isaac KE wrote “You shouldn’t be bothered by sentiments of a 2months old mp who doesn’t even understand how to sponsor a bill in parliament, leave alone changing the constitution. For politic’s sake it is okay to talk about it but for any other serious consideration we all know the time limit can not be extended at least with this administration,”
