Normalcy Taking Shape in Eldoret town-DG Barorot

Normalcy has begun taking shape in Eldoret town after the County Government of Uasin Gishu instituted intensive security measures that aimed at restoring trader confidence following last week’s skirmishes between law enforcers and the street families.

 

These were the sentiments of Deputy Governor  John Barorot when he hosted Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Uasin Gishu Chapter chairman Willy Kenei and Director Alice Karanja on a courtesy call to discuss the status of the resumption of businesses across the city of champions.

 

“We have order now in our town and we will ensure that traders mwork in a conducieve environment where they will not be disturbed , our aim is to ensure our traders are protected,” said  deputygovernor Bororot.

Trade and Cooperatives CECM Eng Martha Cheruto, Acting Trade Chief Officer Kipleting Mengich who was also present during the meeting noted that they will work on some interventions to see vibrancy in the two markets of Kahoya and Kimumu Bahati to realize efficiency in trading aspects.
