The nominated member of parliament on UDA party ticket Joseph Wainaina has supported the move by the government to import 10 million bags of GMO maize.

This he says will ensure the availability of affordable maize flour to millions of Kenyans across the Country.

Speaking during a Funds Drive at Worldwide Gospel church Langas Eldoret Wainaina and his Kesses counterpart said the importation of maize will not interfere with the current Maize Prices.

“I don’t see any bad intention on the government importing maize since it will ensure we have affordable flour for residents. CS Moses Kuria should ensure that farmers fetch better prices for their maize. This will create a balance between the availability of affordable maize flour and better prices for our farmers,” said the nominated MP Joseph Wainaina.

He warned the opposition leaders against politicizing the GMO issue saying they are using the issue as political fodder to get political mileage.

One Million shillings was raised towards the burial of the late pastor Dennis Njuguna Mwangi Of the World Wide Gospel church Langas, who passed on following a grisly road accident along the Eldoret Nakuru Highway.
