Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has warned the opposition leader Raila Odinga against holding mass action in the County.

Speaking today at AIC Nandi Gaa during a thanksgiving service of Mr. Amon Kibet, the County boss said it will be impractical for the former premier to continue holding the country at ransom based on his agenda.

“Don’t try to come to Uasin Gishu and tell the people to go for mass action, Who do you want us to go against, and why? As you know president William Ruto comes from this County, who will you tell to go against him, and yet we voted for him overwhelmingly,” said the Uasin Gishu County boss.
He said Uasin Gishu residents are now trying to cure the wounds of the 2007 post-elections violence and will not allow them to hold meetings and mass actions in the County.

“We want to Raila relax, your aim is to use the back door and be in the government this you did during the Kibaki and Uhuru and William Ruto’s government doesn’t understand the no sense of handshake. In Uasin Gishu I will not allow it to happen,” said the Uasin Gishu County boss.

Bii was categorical that Raila should instead use his experience to offer wise counsel to the government and shun calls of engaging in politics of the past while seeking another handshake with President William Ruto.

“As a father, you are supposed to bring people together and not through handshake as it has been the norm. Your work is now to advise president Ruto on how to run the government and not to threaten him through mass action,” said the Uasin Gishu governor.
