Governor Presides Over Opening of the Cooperative Bank -Chwele Branch
Bungoma governor Ken Lusaka has presided over the opening of the cooperative bank -Chwele branch.
Despite being the second largest open air market in the country ,Chwele has never had a bank with many traders being forced to get the services either in Kimilili or Bungoma town .
The total volume of goods and services traded weekly is estimated at Sh250 million, which translates to an annual turnover of Sh13 billion.
As a county government we have already set aside money for the expansion of Chwele Market and upgrading of the roads within the market .
I further used the opportunity to implore on banks to have favorable policies that will attract residents to do business with them .
