Ten Teams Participate in FKF Women Cup competitions

Ten teams of women participated in the Football of Kenya Federation[FKF] Women Cup competitions

7 and 3 teams played on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

MTG United thrashed Ocean D Ladies 6-0 while Kakuma Kalobeyei lost 2-0 to the University of Eldoret as Coast Starlets drew against Kahawa Queens 0-0 in ninety minutes and later Kahawa emerged winners 4-2 via extra time play.

MC Millan Queens smashed Patrick Queens 6-0 on Saturday while Young Bullets scored 2-0 against Egerton FC and Fortune Ladies had great fortune after scoring 2-0 against their opponent Mukuru Talent.

The varsity talents from Mount Kenya University failed to show up their efforts where thye were defeated by Kapsabet Starlets 2-0.

During Sunday’s match, Gusii won against Migori Educational Centre 2-1 at the Migori Educational Centre field. Viker Queens demolished Bomet Starlets with 3-0 goals. Dero Divas dived in vain and effortlessly lost to Kolwa Falcons who took the lead of a 5-1 win in an away game.

10 FKF Women Premier League clubs,19 FKF Women Division One clubs,and 13 FKF Women Regional/County participated in the tournament making a total of 42 clubs.

The preliminary round kicked off on February 18, 2023 involving teams from the regional leagues and all Division One teams that are lower than the 5th position from both zones in the league standings as of January 22nd,2023.

The FKF Women’s Cup participants from FKF Women league clubs and the top five FKF Women Division One clubs from each zone in the league standings received byes for the preliminary round.

The draw is scheduled for February 22, 2023,ahead of the action on March 18, 2023 for the round of 32.

The round of 16 will get underway on April 15 before the quarterfinal games begin on May 20, 2023.On June 24, 2023,the semi-final matches will be held.

The cup Champions will be crowned on July 2.
