Reject The Finance Bill – Kakamega MPs Told

Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has urged residents to come out in large numbers and give their views during a public participation forum on the Finance Bill, 2023 to inform the vote by Members of Parliament.

The Governor said this at Bulimbo Catholic Church in Matungu Sub-County on Sunday where he also called on all the 13 Legislators from the County to heed to the wishes of the residents while voting.

He called for amendments on the Bill, saying the same will support and spur economic growth.

Deputy Governor H.E Ayub Savula called on the Honourable Members to put their interests aside and prioritize the needs and plight of Kenyans.

The event was also attended by First Lady H.E. Prof. Janet Kassily Barasa who reminded residents to join the fight against the stigma that comes with menstrual hygiene. 28th May is the International Day of Menstrual Hygiene.

Other leaders present included Members of Parliament, MCAs and Senior County Government Officers.
