Department Putting Strategies For Health Services at Conference

County Executive Committee Member for Health, Dr Sam Kotut, on Thursday held a meeting with the public health officers to discuss ways of enhancing service delivery and sanitation across the County.

Dr. Kotut emphasized the need for public health officers to work closely with the community to sensitize them on the importance of hygiene and sanitation in preventing diseases.

“We are mandated to ensure that all health facilities in the county are well equipped and staffed to provide quality healthcare services to the residents and also uphold the sanitation of our institutions,” says Dr Kotut

Dr. Kotut also noted that the upcoming devolution conference will provide an opportunity for the county to showcase its achievements in the health sector and also learn from other counties on best practices.

“I want to call upon you as public health officers to actively participate in the conference and share your experiences and challenges in the provision of healthcare services in the county,” he adds.

Dr. Kotut further assured the officers of the county government’s commitment to improving the health sector and urged them to work together towards achieving this goal adding that plans are underway to provide them with motorbikes to ease accessibility, especially in the rural areas.

The Departmental Boss said that through the Alcoholic Drinks Control Board, they are working on rehabilitation programs therefore they embrace the Nawiri program to rehabilitate the persons to gain a meaningful life.

Promotive and Preventive Health Chief Officer Mrs Joyce Sang urged the officers to ensure regular checkups of the eateries in the urban to enhance sanitation and hygiene. Present was the Acting Director of Public Health Laban Kiprop.
