Kenya National Fatwa Council Deputy Director, Sheikh Abubakar Bini has urged Kenyans to embrace brotherhood as a way to salvage themselves during these tough economic times.

Speaking during the distribution of meat to over a hundred needy women in Eldoret town, Sheikh Bini said that lamenting and complaining to the government is not a solution to the current situation.

” Sharing is the only way to overcome the economic crisis. Otherwise, if we continue to blame the government yet we are not sharing amongst ourselves then the situation will be worse,” said Bini.

A lot of women showed up at the madrasas during the Idd celebrations which dictates the current country’s economic status.

” The economy is in a very bad state. Yesterday we were at Ziwa, and many non-Muslims came to receive meat which indicates the economy is in an ugly situation,” noted Bini.

Bini further called on the government to stay away from religion saying that bringing politics to religious matters is dangerous as it will cause division.

” Let us separate politics from religious matters because it seems like the government wants to get over the issue of regulating churches and we have decided to have a dialogue to avoid religious division,” added Bini.

This is the second Idd of Eid Al Adha as Muslims continue to celebrate by slaughtering and sharing with the needy according to the teaching of Prophet Ibrahim who wanted to sacrifice his son Ishmael.

The celebrations continue for three days after the marking of Eid Al Adha.
