Governor Natembeya Leads team in Town Beautification

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya this morning blazed the trail in a town beautification exercise where he planted ornamental trees along the Kenyatta Street.

The governor who was accompanied by his Deputy Philomena Kapkory said his administration will make the town appealing and conducive to its dwellers and visitors.

Kenyatta Street is among the first lanes to receive a facelift with the fitting of cabros and planting of ornamental trees that will make the look of the town attractive.

During the occasion, the governor took opportune to welcome participants to the North Rift Economic Block (NOREB) Peace Summit which runs from Thursday 7 through to Friday 8 at the Kitale Club.

The forum will bring together at least 500 invited guests from the eight North Rift Counties that constitute the block which include Nandi, Turkana, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, Uasin Gishu, Samburu, Baringo and Trans Nzoia.

He challenged hoteliers to uphold dignity and give a true impression of the hospitality of the great people of Trans Nzoia by offering the best services to visitors to the county.

Trans Nzoia, he said, has great tourism potential and with the hospitality of its people, the county is bound to attract tourists as well as potential investors in the varied sectors.

Governor Natembeya was also accompanied by the CECMs Wanjala Pepela (Health), Channel Kittoney (Gender), Channel Kittoney, Janerose Mutama (Lands) and Patrick Gacheru (Environment) during the morning exercise.
