Miano Envisions a Food Sufficient Kenya
The Cabinet Secretary for EAC, ASALs and Regional Development The Hon. CS Rebecca Miano through her commitment, dedication and focus, and working in synergy with like-minded agencies, is envisioning a food secure Kenya.
The Hon. CS, who accompanied His Excellency The President Dr William Samoei Ruto in a Coastal working tour, noted:
“The strive to a food sufficient country is well on course, thank you H. E President William Ruto and DP Rigathi Gachagua for steering this wheel, we’re vigilant on this discourse through my Regional Development Authorities in collaboration with all Stakeholders to actualize this Plan,”
Food insecurity in our country, especially the ASALs will only rest if we moved from reliance on rain fed Agriculture. The rehabilitation of the Tana Delta Irrigation Project by TARDA, commissioned by H. E Dr. William Ruto in Tana River County is one of the initiatives we’ll pursue in this space.”
