Gacheru tops RRI ranking as Amboko,Janerose and Wabwoba Below Average

Trans Nzoia’s Department of Water and Environment has achieved the top ranking in the recently concluded Rapid Results Initiative (RRI).

The department, under the leadership of CEC Patrick Gacheru and Chief Officer Dorothy Musikoyo, secured this notable position.

As per the results published by the Governor’s Delivery Unit (GDU) which is overseen by Deputy Governor Philomena Kapkory, CEC Gacheru attained an impressive score of 85% out of a possible 100%.

The Governance department, led by Chief Officer Sammy Sichangi, secured the second spot with a commendable score of 78%.

Following closely was the Finance department, headed by CEC Boniface Wanyonyi and Chief Officer Ashton Mulupi, which clinched the third position with a score of 77%.

The Public Service Management department,under CEC Sam Ojwang who has been reassigned to the Education department, secured the fourth place with a score of 76%. Trade and Industrialization, led by CEC Stanley Kirui and deputized by outgoing Chief Officer Omari Ndiema, claimed the fifth spot with a score of 75%.

Health, headed by Pepela Wanjala and Emmanuel Wanjala, achieved a 71% score, positioning it at sixth place.

Chenelle Kittony’s department of Gender, Youth, Sports, and Culture secured the seventh spot with a score of 70%. The Education department, previously helmed by Julie Kichwen and Jane Wachwenge during the RRI assessment, attained the eighth rank with a score of 68%.

Agriculture, led by the vocal CEC Phanice Khatundi, closely followed with a 67% score.

Unfortunately, the Lands and Housing department performed below par with a score of 49%, placing it in the tenth position. This department, led by CEC Janerose Mutama with Philip Kapten serving as CEC during the RRI assessment, faced challenges.

CEC Jackson Amboko of Public Works achieved a score of 43%, landing second to last in the rankings, highlighting room for improvement. County Attorney Walioli Wabwoba scored the lowest with only 36%, concluding the rankings in the RRI assessment.

Governor George Natembeya launched the RRI in March to ensure departments realized the targeted goals in development and service delivery in a span of three months.
