The 10-Member Delegation, sought to learn best practices and share experiences with Members of the National Assembly Committee, met the Committee on Liason led by Vice-Chair Hon. “We share several aspects in terms of opportunities and challenges on the security and defence fronts and we can through such engagements brainstorm on tackling of such regional and global threats as terrorism,” said Hon. Koech.

During the Delegation’s meeting the National Security Committee, Hon. Rasso emphasized opportunities available for both Nations from their joint Memberships to regional and international parliamentary forums such as the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), the African, Caribbean, and Pacific – European Union (ACP-EU), Pan-African Parliament (PAP) and the International Parliamentary Union (IPU).

“Participation in these forums provides opportunities for parliamentarians from both countries to interact, engage in discussions, and collaborate on matters of mutual interest, including regional issues and legislative matters,” said Hon. Rasso.

Mozambique was colonized by several European powers during its history, but the most significant and lasting period of colonization was carried out by the Portuguese. Mozambique finally gained its independence from Portugal on June 25, 1975.
