The National Environment Management Authority NEMA has taken a moment to remind us of the upcoming national clean up day.

“World Cleanup Day 2023, Nearly every human on this planet has a place they call Home. Be it a mansion, a street, a hut or a flat. Then there are the cities, countries, and regions we call home. And the planet we call home. We are all responsible for cleanliness and sustainability of our homes!

As such, World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris. The day is celebrated every third weekend of September.

The simplicity of the idea of World Cleanup Day is that everyone should be responsible to pick up own waste and get involved in making their home a better place.

therefore, the day harnesses the power of people around the world to achieve incredible things by joining together to make the World a cleaner and better place.

In Kenya, the World cleanup Day will be celebrated on 17th September, 2023 in Nanyuki, Laikipia County themed: Think before you trash it.”
