LSK faults President Ruto’s ‘Waende Mbiguni’ remarks amid Rai Abduction Saga

Human rights lobby groups lead by law society of Kenya Amnesty international, Haki Africa and Kenya human rights have voiced their reservations regarding what they term at return of extra judicial killings,while in Western tour the president threatened those involved in court cases over the ownership of Mumias sugar company saying ‘wahame Kenya,Nitawaweka jela,wasafiri kuenda binguni ‘ which amounted to day light abduction of Jaswat singh Rai the billionaire behind kabras sugar and the alleged sugar cartel baron.

The president appeared to substitute the constitution and violate human rights and take the country back to dark days and misuse of police power according to LSK president Eric Theuri.

Haki Africa Hussein khalid has called on the police to stop harassing indian nationals doing business in Kenya citing several cases of abduction of indian business moguls,this even as over hundred and fifty families continue to grieve over the loss of their family members who have disappeared or died in police custody.

Human rights organizations have continued to call on the government to accelerate the ratification and domestication of the United Nations international convention for the protection of all persons from enforced disappearances.

Lsk has vowed to challenge all actions aimed at curtailing it’s freedom and those of citizens and urged the president to uphold the rule or law and build the country to keep everyone safe from inhumane treatment.

The Law group has termed what is said as use of judiciary and court system to frustrate government projects and intimidate lawyers involved in the cases against the government as a major set back in judicial freedom and reforms and a major abuse of the constitution,while expressing it’s fears of use or Kenya revenue authority KRA to raid the society.

Amnesty International Executive Director Irungu Houghton has called on the religious leaders to highlight the issues while calling on the government to protect lives and business ahead of the international day of disappearance.
