Governor Natembeya Powers Up Simatwet Dispensary, Boosting Delivery of Health
Governor George Natembeya has inaugurated a new power transformer for Simatwet Dispensary this evening, with the aim of enhancing healthcare services at the facility.
The transformer is set to benefit not only Simatwet Dispensary but also the Moi farm and Amagoro village at large.
During the event, Governor Natembeya expressed his commitment to ensuring that residents of Trans Nzoia have access to quality healthcare services in all county health facilities.
Despite rural electrification falling under the purview of the National government, the governor’s administration remains dedicated to resolving local issues.
Furthermore, Governor Natembeya pledged to ensure the timely distribution of drugs and other non-pharmaceutical supplies to all healthcare facilities within the county.
He also announced the upcoming launch of the “kazi mashinani” program, designed to actively involve youth in the county’s development.
In a cautionary note, the governor urged Trans Nzoia residents not to undersell their maize produce, emphasizing the importance of fair pricing for the hard work and investments made by farmers.
Local residents commended the governor for swiftly addressing their concerns within just a few months of taking office. The governor also revealed plans for a road maintenance program aimed at opening roads in the area.
Tom Juma, speaking on behalf of the residents, expressed their gratitude saying the availability of refrigeration facilities for medicines at Simatwet Dispensary will eliminate the need to travel to other healthcare facilities.
Area MCA Furaha Lusweti appealed to Governor Natembeya to construct a maternity wing at the dispensary to support expectant mothers. Additionally, Lusweti called for assistance in the construction of a bridge connecting the Simatwet area to Kakamega County, as residents have long faced challenges accessing the other side, often relying on makeshift methods.
Martin Lumasia, the county KPLC manager, assured residents of continued efforts to connect them to the power grid in collaboration with the county government.
The governor’s visit was marked by the presence of various local leaders and county staff.
