Governor Rotich Launches Vaccination Exercise
Elgeyo Marakwet governor Wisley Rotich officially launched the vaccination exercise of sheep and goats.
The exercise will be carried out in eight Wards of Endo, Arror, Lower Sambirir, Lower Emsoo, Soy North, Soy South and Cherangany-Chebororwa.
The vaccination against peste petit ruminants (PPR),Contagious Caprine Pneumonia(CCPP), Sheep and goat pox,and caprine Arthritis which leads to deaths of several livestock will continue until the end of the month.
County veterinary officers will be going from house to house to ensure that 146,000 goats ,and 48,000 sheep in the Wards are vaccinated.
The exercise is supported by Emergency Locust Response Program (ELRP) who were represented by its National Project Coordinating Unit (NPCU) Dr Douglas Indetie, Catherine Kinyanjui and James Singi.
Present were CECs Edwin Seroney, Edwin Kibor, COs Edwin Komen, Robert Lagat, Project Coordinator Wilson Nabakwe among other County staff.
