Senate Finance Committee Meets to Adopt a Draft Report on the Equalization Fund Appropriation Bill, 2023
The Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget chaired by Mandera Senator Ali Roba has today adopted the draft report on the Equalization Fund Appropriation Bill, 2023.
During the Committee`s meeting this Tuesday, Senators deliberated and adopted the draft report on the Bill.
This comes after a series of deliberation meetings by the Committee with various stakeholders who gave their input on the Bill.
The stakeholders included the Commission on Revenue Allocation, the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, Council of Governors and the National Treasury among others.
The Committee also deliberated on the response to a statement by Sen. (Dr.) Boni Khalwale regarding the status of pending bills in Kakamega County.
Members of the Committee resolved to invite the Kakamega County Governor to shed more light on the bills.
Committee Members present were Mandera County Senator Ali Roba (Chairperson), Sen. Tabitha Mutinda (Vice Chairperson), Kakamega County Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale, Mombasa County Senator Mohamed Faki, Sen. Shakila Abdalla, Migori County Senator Eddy Oketch and Kisii County Senator Richard Onyonka.
