Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has praised county employees for their outstanding work after achieving the top rank among governors in the country.

During a celebration attended by workers and Kitale residents, Governor Natembeya attributed this success to the exceptional personnel in his county and the spirit of teamwork.

He challenged all employees, from junior staff to senior county officials, to strive for maintaining the top position.

Governor Natembeya stated, “We now have to aim higher but remain at number one.

This can only be achieved if we continue working together. No staff should undermine our efforts if we wish to sustain this position,” he added with a smile.

On Tuesday, Governor Natembeya and his Homa Bay counterpart, Gladys Wanga, were recognized as the best-performing governors in the country according to a survey conducted by Infotrak Company.

They both secured the top positions on the list of the top 25 governors, each scoring an average of 70 percent.

In the rankings, West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin came in third with 67 percent, while Simba Arati (Kisii), Irungu Kang’ata (Murang’a), Jeremiah Lomurkai (Turkana), and Mutula Kilonzo (Makueni) tied for the fourth position with 64 percent.

Governor Natembeya emphasized that the work has only just begun and urged county workers to contribute to the delivery of services that will improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
