KEWI Holds it’s 35th Graduation Ceremony
The Cabinet Secretary Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Hon Zacharia Njeru accompanied by the Principal Secretary State Department for Water and Sanitation Mr. Julius Korir, CBS was the Chief Guest at KEWI graduation ceremony held in KEWI Main Campus South C. The CS also officially opened the Water Resource Centre (WRC).
Today’s graduation ceremony saw 1282 graduates released in the job market. The CS appealed to the Water sector institutions to give preference to KEWI graduates when recruiting and hiring. He further stressed that all water sector institutions ought to be attending events happening such as this without failure as this is the only institution training graduates to work in their organizations.
While congratulating the graduates who undertook both Diploma and certificate courses, the CS revealed that moving forward, the graduation ceremony should be held in the morning to create room for them to enjoy the day with friends and family. The CEO KEWI Dr. Solomon Letangule thanked the CS and entourage for accepting to grace the occasion.
The PS State Department for Water and Sanitation Julius Korir stated that the Ministry will continue supporting KEWI in order to sustain its critical operations in training, research and consultancy.
The Water Secretary Eng SAO Alima, EBS stated that KEWI was on the right trajectory as the old KEWI Act 2001 had clipped her wings to soar in the field. “With the repeal of the new KEWI Act, there is room for future expansion”, revealed Eng Alima.
Water sector institutions present were WRA, CRWWDA, TANA WWDA among other stakeholders in the water, sanitation and Irrigation sector.
