Elgeyo Marakwet County Receives Equipment to Digitize Land Records

Elgeyo Marakwet Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development has received equipment under Digital Land Governance Program(DLGP) supported by Food and Agricultural Organization FAO.

The equipment, received today by CEC Thomas Maiyo, will be utilized to establish the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) laboratory which will enhance digitization of land records and processes.
The issued inventory consists of work stations, desktop computers, APC UPS, a server, a plotter, a scanner and screen.

Under the Program, FAO is supporting the County to digitize land records, establish the of GIS laboratory, staff capacity building in digitization , dispute resolution mechanism, policy making, legal and institutional framework.
The delivered equipment will be used for mapping, planning, spatial analysis and management of County geospatial data.
