AstraZeneca Donates State-of-the-art Ultrasound Machine to MTRH
AstraZeneca has donated a state-of-the-art prostate cancer ultrasound biopsy machine to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).
The donation is courtesy of its Cancer Care Africa (CCA) initiative.
While receiving the machine from the Cancer Care Africa Lead, Grace Humwa, the Ag. CEO Dr. Philip Kirwa, thanked Astra Zeneca for the support and added that MTRH is looking forward to sustainable partnership(s) in Lung and Breast Cancers.
This is part of AstraZeneca’s larger initiative to equip Centres of Excellence in hospitals across Kenya with similar state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, in partnership with The National Cancer Institute of Kenya (NCI Kenya) and the Kenya Association of Urological Surgeons (KAUS).
In attendance was the CEO – NCI Kenya, Dr. Elias Melly; MTRH Ag. Senior Director, Clinical Services, Dr. Owen Menach; Director Hemato- Oncology, Dr. Jesse Opakas; Director Radiology, Dr. Ezekiel Kimutai; Director Finance, Mathews Birgen and Consultants in Interventional Radiology and Urology.
