Respected leader and leading health practitioner from Murang’a Dr Moses Mwangi is a patriotic Kenyan. He is kind, caring, and compassionate.

In the wake of the raging floods, Dr. Moses advised Kenyans to exercise utmost care and caution so as to avoid being marooned.

“I’m calling upon Kenyans to exercise caution and avoid circumstances and scenarios that can lead them in trouble. Avoid crossing or wading in swollen rivers, avoid swimming in waterways, and if living in a flooded area, please make a point of moving to higher ground.”

Dr. Moses was also careful to urge people to empty containers that hold rain water and therefore become breeding grounds for mosquitos that cause malaria.
The Ministry of Health and County governments’ health department should make and execute strategies to prevent possible outbreaks of malaria and other serious water-borne diseases that may worsen the crisis of flooding already at hand. The flood waters mixing with sewer lines may become the next cause of disaster if not immediately appropriately addressed. The rallying call by Dr. Moses is that ” what can be prevented should be prevented.”
