Tragedy Strikes Kapkau Village: Landslide Claims Two Lives, Injures Others

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Kapkau Village in Sambirir, Marakwet East, was struck by a devastating landslide, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives and leaving several others injured. With a heavy heart, I extend my deepest condolences, along with those of the entire county, to the affected families and the community at large.

Upon receiving news of this calamity, our county’s disaster response team swiftly mobilized alongside the Red Cross to provide urgent assistance to those affected by this natural disaster. Their prompt action and dedication are commendable as they work tirelessly to mitigate the impact of this unfortunate event.

As we grapple with the aftermath of this tragedy, I want to assure the residents of Kapkau Village and their loved ones that the county government, in collaboration with well-wishers, stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time. We are committed to providing all necessary support to the affected families as they navigate through this challenging period.

Currently, one of the injured individuals is receiving medical attention at Kapsowar Mission Hospital, and our thoughts are with them for a swift and full recovery. The healthcare professionals at the hospital are working diligently to ensure the best possible care for the injured.
