In a ceremony held on Monday, the County handed over a title deed to the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), marking a pivotal step forward in the port’s development.

The allocated plot, identified as Samia/Bujwanga/275, spans 0.6 hectares and is earmarked for the construction of the port. Key features of the proposed port include a modern jetty, cargo storage facilities, landing spaces for boats and vessels, a passenger lounge, and a dedicated police station to ensure security within the port premises. Additionally, plans include the establishment of a multi-agency building to foster collaboration among various government entities involved in port operations.

Local leaders expressed their gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing the anticipated benefits for the community. Mr. Camulus Ojiambo Obada, the Agenga/Nanguba Member of County Assembly and Deputy Chief Whip, commended Governor H.E Dr. Paul Nyongesa Otuoma and area Member of Parliament Dr. Oundoh Mudenyo for their efforts in realizing the port project. He highlighted the expected positive impacts on local development, including improved road infrastructure and increased employment opportunities.
