In a recent statement addressing the actions of Deputy President Riggy-G, Uasin Gishu Youth President Kelvin Kipleting urged for a shift in focus towards fulfilling national duties rather than entangling in local politics.

Expressing concern over the Deputy President’s engagement in village politics, Kipleting emphasized the significance of upholding the responsibilities befitting a deputy president, particularly in a region like Rift Valley. He highlighted that such actions risked diminishing the stature of the region.

Kipleting referenced President William Samoei Ruto’s recent historic visit to the region, noting a lack of appropriate respect from Riggy-G’s side. Instead of according the president due recognition, Riggy-G was observed holding stopover meetings within Uasin Gishu, which Kipleting deemed as a missed opportunity for displaying respect and unity.

Furthermore, Kipleting criticized Riggy-G’s visits to Uasin Gishu, asserting that they lacked developmental objectives and seemed more focused on personal matters. He underscored the need for the Deputy President to address the grievances of the region with a developmental lens rather than using them as platforms to address personal issues.

Highlighting the growing revolutionary spirit among the youth, Kipleting cautioned Riggy-G to lower his ego and prioritize the interests of the new generation. He warned that failure to do so might result in backlash, suggesting that the youth were building their strength and were not willing to tolerate actions that undermine the region’s progress.
