In a bold statement that further deepens the rift between opposition leaders and the Kenya Kwanza administration, Eugine Wamalwa has firmly declared that he will not be joining President William Ruto’s government. The announcement comes amidst ongoing speculation about a potential coalition government aimed at addressing the country’s political and economic challenges.

Wamalwa, the leader of the DAP-Kenya party, addressed the media today to clarify his stance on the current political situation. He emphatically stated that he has no intentions of joining the Kenya Kwanza administration, even if offered a position in the government.

“I have no intention to join William Ruto’s government, and even if he offered me my previous docket, I’m not boarding,” Wamalwa asserted. He condemned the current administration, expressing his belief that President Ruto’s resignation is the only solution to restore public confidence and tackle issues of corruption and tribalism.

The former Cabinet Secretary criticized the current government’s performance and rejected the idea of participating in any dialogues aimed at forming a broad-based coalition. “The position we have taken as DAP is that we will not be part of the dialogue or the broad-based government,” Wamalwa affirmed.

This stance follows President Ruto’s recent decision to appoint Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi as the acting CS for all ministries. The move was part of Ruto’s efforts to stabilize the administration amid mounting pressure from protests and calls for reform. The President has expressed a desire to include opposition voices in a restructured cabinet, a proposal that Wamalwa and other opposition leaders have vehemently opposed.
