Kenya Women Parliamentarians Partner with IDinsight to Boost Social Media Engagement and Data-Driven Change
In a significant move to enhance their impact and effectiveness, Kenya Women Parliamentarians (KEWOPA) held a pivotal inception meeting today in collaboration with the global non-profit organization IDinsight.
The meeting, attended by KEWOPA Chair Hon. Leah Sankaire, along with Hon. Renee Mayaka and Hon. Jane Kagiri, focused on strategies for improving social media engagement and leveraging data for better governance.
The session provided a platform for discussions on how KEWOPA can effectively use social media to reach a broader audience and engage with the public on key issues.
A major part of the conversation revolved around equipping KEWOPA members with reliable, actionable data to inform their decisions and drive legislative efforts.
“We discussed enhancing our social media engagement and ensuring our members have access to reliable and actionable data,” said Hon. Sankaire, highlighting the dual focus of the meeting. “IDinsight’s support is crucial in helping us harness data and evidence to make informed decisions that will positively impact the lives of Kenyans.”
IDinsight, known for its work in improving the effectiveness of social programs through evidence-based solutions, will assist KEWOPA in implementing tools and strategies that will enable members to better analyze data and communicate their initiatives through social media channels.
The collaboration signifies a commitment to fostering a more data-driven approach in Kenyan politics and creating a platform where parliamentarians can effectively share their work and engage with constituents.
Both organizations expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this partnership, which aims to advance the legislative agenda of KEWOPA while promoting transparency and accountability in governance.
