Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro Announces Major Infrastructure and Development Initiatives
In a significant boost for local infrastructure, Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro inaugurated the new seven-kilometer road linking Kaleshiungu to Gitui.
This launch marks a key milestone in the region’s development, reflecting broader national investment in road infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, MP Nyoro highlighted a substantial national commitment of Ksh 57 billion for road infrastructure in the upcoming financial year. This investment aims to complete ongoing road projects across the country. Additionally, Ksh 5 billion will be dedicated to finishing the Maumau Mau roads in the region.
Nyoro also detailed allocations for other crucial areas. A total of Ksh 18.5 billion will be allocated for various national priorities, including Ksh 7.5 billion for subsidizing fertilizers, Ksh 1 billion for sugar industry reforms, and Ksh 3 billion for the Cherry Fund. An additional Ksh 1.5 billion will support the Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) to stabilize milk prices, with a target to increase the price of raw milk to at least Ksh 50 per liter.
Moreover, Ksh 3.5 billion will be directed towards the Maraga Taskforce to enhance police officers’ salaries, acknowledging the long-standing need for wage adjustments to support their families.
Margaret Wanjiru, the area MCA, praised MP Nyoro for his role in advancing development. “We thank the MP for his efforts in bringing about significant progress. With this development, we are poised for a brighter future,” Wanjiru said.
The event underscored the MP’s commitment to advancing infrastructure and community welfare, aligning with the broader national agenda to bolster economic and social development.
