48 MPs from Mt Kenya Region Endorse Interior CS Kithure Kindiki as Their Kingpin
In a significant political development, 48 Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Mt Kenya region have publicly endorsed Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki as their regional kingpin. The endorsement came during a meeting held in Nyahururu today.
The MPs present included notable figures such as Hon. Mwangi Kiunjuri of Laikipia East, Hon. (Dr) Wachira Karani of Laikipia West, and Hon. Jane Kagiri of Laikipia. Other key supporters included Hon. Eric Wamumbi of Mathira, Hon. John Kaguchia of Mukurweini, and Hon. Duncan Mathenge of Nyeri Town. The group also featured Hon. Wahome Wamatinga, the Senator for Nyeri, and Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, the MP for Kikuyu.
This endorsement positions Kindiki as a central figure in the region’s political landscape, reflecting a significant consolidation of support among Mt Kenya legislators. The MPs expressed their confidence in Kindiki’s leadership capabilities and vision for the region.
Several MPs were unable to attend the meeting but extended their support with apologies. These included Hon. Martha Wangari of Gilgil and Hon. David Gikaria of Nakuru Town East, among others.
