Former Uasin Gishu County Assembly nominated MCA Maina Wachira has broken his silence following an incident in which he claims he was abducted by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers in Nairobi. The incident occurred shortly after he had served as the MC at a fundraising event in Kamkunji, Uasin Gishu County, at the home of Hon. Ann Wanjiku, Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), popularly known as Shiko.

According to Maina Wachira, the officers picked him up and transported him to Kamkunji Police Station, where he was questioned and asked to record a statement. The abduction allegedly followed claims made by Hon. Joseph Wainaina, a nominated Member of Parliament affiliated with the Queens Garden Party. Wainaina reportedly accused Wachira of political misconduct.

Wachira, now safely home, has expressed his gratitude to family, friends, and the people of Huruma and Uasin Gishu County for their unwavering support during his ordeal. “I have been freed at last,” he stated. “You can use all government agencies to threaten and intimidate me on my political stand, but your plans won’t work. Power is transient.”

He firmly declared that the incident would not deter his political journey. “Aluta continua, forward ever, backward never. Mungumbele,” Wachira concluded, underscoring his resolve to continue championing his political beliefs despite efforts to intimidate him.

The exact details surrounding the allegations against Wachira remain unclear, but the incident has sparked widespread concern and support among his constituents.
