Thousands of teachers across the country are facing significant challenges in applying for 46,000 positions recently advertised by the Teachers Training Commission (TSC) due to persistent technical difficulties with the online application portal.

The recruitment process, intended to streamline applications, has instead become a source of frustration for many aspiring educators. The TSC portal has been down for several days, preventing applicants from submitting their applications as the deadline approaches.

Nancy Macharia, TSC’s Chief Executive Officer, acknowledged the issue, stating, “We regret to inform you that we are currently experiencing technical challenges affecting the teacher recruitment portal.”

Numerous teachers have reported logging in repeatedly, only to encounter error messages and site crashes. Many have resorted to visiting cyber cafes and using different devices in a desperate attempt to access the portal, but the situation remains unchanged for most.

The mounting frustrations have ignited a wave of complaints on social media, with applicants sharing their struggles and urging TSC to resolve the issues quickly. The lack of communication from the commission has only intensified anxiety among candidates, leaving them uncertain about their prospects.

As the deadline nears, there are increasing calls from the teaching community for an extension to ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to apply. Teachers are urging TSC to act swiftly to resolve the technical issues that have hindered their applications, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

With many hopefuls still unable to submit their applications, the TSC faces mounting pressure to restore access to the portal and provide clarity on the recruitment process.
