KNUT Chairman Celebrates World Teachers’ Day, Honors Dedication of Educators

On October 5th, the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) joined the global community in celebrating World Teachers’ Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the vital role teachers play in shaping the future. Mr. Patrick Karinga Munuhe, the National Chairman of KNUT, issued heartfelt wishes to educators across the country, emphasizing their unwavering commitment and impact on society.

In his message, Munuhe highlighted the multifaceted role of teachers, stating, “It’s World Teachers’ Day 2024. It’s a day of honoring teachers for their great sacrifices to make the world a better place. Today is that day to celebrate teachers for their immense contribution to our societies.” He reflected on the profound influence teachers have on their students, reminding all that “every great mind was once taught by some brilliant teachers.”

Munuhe acknowledged the selflessness, sacrifice, and passion that teachers embody, describing teaching as more than just a profession; it is a “labor of love.” He expressed gratitude for their ability to nurture potential and inspire confidence, even amid challenging circumstances.

“From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of KNUT, I wish all the teachers well on this International Teachers’ Day,” he concluded. “Your work is crucial in helping our learners become who they are meant to be.”

World Teachers’ Day serves as a reminder of the essential role educators play in the development of individuals and society as a whole, urging communities to appreciate and support the teaching profession.
