Business, Electrical, and ICT Departments Claim 2024 Principal’s Cup at Eldoret National Polytechnic
Eldoret National Polytechnic witnessed an exhilarating showdown as the Business, Electrical, and ICT departments triumphed in the 2024 Principal’s Cup. The finals, held at the institution’s grounds, saw the Business department women’s team defeat their Town campus counterparts in a hard-fought football match.
Coach Moses Owino praised his team for their dedication and hard work throughout the tournament. “We trained extensively, and it wasn’t a walk in the park,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and faith, saying, “I put God first and appreciate my players for their outstanding performance.” Owino noted that his team of 16 players executed the game plan effectively, contributing to their success.
Mildred Simiyu, captain of the victorious Business team, echoed her coach’s sentiments. She acknowledged the strength of their opponents, stating, “It hasn’t been easy, but my girls were prepared from the start of the tournament.” Her leadership and the team’s determination were pivotal in securing the win.
In the netball finals, the Electrical department emerged victorious against the HIM team. Captain Mercy Kibori attributed their success to divine intervention, saying, “It has not been easy; we have struggled since Monday, but we thank God for our win.” Her team’s resilience throughout the tournament was instrumental in their victory.
Meanwhile, the ICT department’s men’s team also celebrated a hard-earned win over the Electrical department. Captain Tumain David congratulated his teammates, expressing gratitude for their collective effort. “We have done our best, and I wish our opponents the best too,” he remarked, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship that prevailed throughout the competition.
The Principal’s Cup not only showcased athletic talent but also fostered camaraderie among the various departments, making it a memorable event for the Eldoret National Polytechnic community.
