Kirinyaga County Assembly Speaker Commends Development Initiatives in Kikuyu Constituency
The Honorable Muteti Murimi, Speaker of the Kirinyaga County Assembly, lauded recent developmental efforts during a benchmarking exercise in Kikuyu Constituency, facilitated by NA Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah.
The event featured the launch of the Kikuyu Constituency NG-CDF Strategic Plan for 2023-2027, a comprehensive framework aimed at driving sustainable development across critical sectors such as education, security, infrastructure, and social welfare.
In addition, the assembly celebrated the issuance of bursary cheques to deserving students pursuing higher education in universities, colleges, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. This initiative aims to alleviate financial barriers and support the educational aspirations of local youth.
The day also marked the commissioning of a newly constructed academic block at Fr. Kevin Kelly High School, which includes two fully equipped science laboratories. This facility is expected to enhance the quality of education and provide students with better resources for their scientific studies.
Dr. Isaiah Muriithi Mbogo, a key figure in the local education sector, expressed gratitude for these initiatives, highlighting their significance in fostering academic excellence and community development.
Hon. Muteti Murimi praised the collaborative efforts of local leaders in advancing the constituency’s vision and ensuring that the benefits reach those in need. He encouraged continued investment in education and infrastructure to support sustainable growth in the region.
