In a heartfelt ceremony marking Mashujaa Day, Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano joined President William Ruto and other national and regional leaders to honor the nation’s heroes and heroines. The celebration, held today, highlighted the vital role of affordable housing in uplifting communities across the country.

Miano emphasized that tourism and wildlife conservation are pivotal in creating jobs and fostering economic growth, which in turn helps make homeownership attainable for many Kenyans. “Together, we are building not only homes, but stronger futures for our people,” she stated.

The event brought together local residents and leaders, fostering a spirit of unity and determination. As the government focuses on integrating sustainable tourism with community development, Miano reiterated the commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of Kenyans through these initiatives.

The day served as a reminder of the importance of collaboration in driving progress and ensuring that all citizens can benefit from the nation’s resources. The celebration not only paid tribute to past heroes but also inspired a collective vision for a prosperous future.

CS Miano adds, ” Kenya continues to assert its global leadership in tourism, with major wins at the World Travel Awards 2024. Diani Beach retained its title as Africa’s Leading Beach Destination and Nairobi was honoured as Africa’s Leading Business Travel Destination!

While on a working tour of Kwale County, it was heartening to find our hotels at full occupancy. We warmly invite you to experience the magic of Kenya, where world-class travel meets the beauty of our sandy shores.”
