Key projects include the construction of new dams, the rehabilitation of existing water infrastructure, and the promotion of rainwater harvesting at both the community and institutional levels. These initiatives are aligned with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the government’s agenda for addressing climate change and improving water security across the country.
In his remarks, CS Eng. Mugaa highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges posed by water scarcity and climate change, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with stakeholders, local communities, and international partners. “The 2023-2027 Strategic Plan is a transformative blueprint for securing water resources for future generations. It reflects our resolve to build resilient water infrastructure and improve water accessibility across the country,” said CS Mugaa.
This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to national water security, bolster agricultural productivity, and ensure reliable water supply for both domestic and industrial use.
