Kithure Kindiki was officially sworn in as Kenya’s new Deputy President on Friday, following the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua. The ceremony, held at State House, was presided over by Chief Justice Martha Koome and attended by President William Ruto and other dignitaries.

In his inaugural address, Kindiki emphasized his commitment to serving the nation with integrity and dedication. “I am honored to take on this crucial role at a pivotal time for our country,” he stated. “I look forward to working hand in hand with President Ruto to address the challenges facing our citizens.”

President Ruto expressed confidence in Kindiki’s leadership abilities, stating, “Kithure is a proven leader with a strong track record. His experience will be invaluable as we strive to fulfill our mandate.”

The swearing-in ceremony marks a new chapter in the Kenyan government, as Kindiki prepares to tackle pressing issues, including security, economic development, and youth empowerment. Observers are keenly watching how he will navigate the responsibilities of his office and work to restore public trust in the administration.
