Governor Bii Inaugurates Fifth Cooperative Bank Branch in Eldoret
In a significant milestone for the growth of Eldoret’s financial infrastructure, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii presided over the launch of the fifth Cooperative Bank branch in the city. The new branch, strategically located along the Eldoret-Airport Highway, is set to enhance access to essential financial services and further stimulate the region’s economic activities.
The Airport Road Branch is poised to play a critical role in increasing financial inclusion for the residents of Eldoret and surrounding areas. The governor emphasized that the new branch’s opening reflects the growing confidence in the city’s potential as a regional business and development hub.
“The expansion of our financial infrastructure is a testament to Eldoret’s rapid growth and its emerging role as a key economic player in the region. With the launch of the Airport Road Branch, we are taking another important step toward ensuring that our residents and businesses have the financial tools they need to succeed,” Governor Bii said during the inauguration.
The branch, which is conveniently located along a major highway, is expected to cater to the needs of both individuals and businesses, improving access to banking services, loans, and other financial products. This, according to Bii, will not only support the city’s growing population but also boost local business activities, especially in the thriving transportation and retail sectors.
Governor Bii also highlighted that the new branch is an indication of the increasing investment in Uasin Gishu County, a sign that the region is becoming a preferred destination for business and development. He called on more investors to consider Eldoret as a key player in Kenya’s economic transformation.
“The cooperative bank’s decision to open this branch in Eldoret is a clear demonstration of trust in the city’s future. It provides our residents with greater access to banking and financial services, which is vital for both individual prosperity and the growth of our businesses,” Governor Bii added.
The inauguration was attended by local leaders, business stakeholders, and residents, all of whom celebrated the positive economic impact the new branch will have on the city. The opening of the Airport Road Branch is seen as a key step toward realizing the governor’s vision of positioning Eldoret as a leading economic center in Kenya.
