A middle-aged pregnant woman was killed in cold blood in Sugoi location, Turbo sub county.
According to the area chief David Samoei it has not yet been established why the woman was killed.
“I was called by my Nyumba Kumi chairlady who told me that there was a woman Catherine Cheruto aged 29 killed at here house in cold blood, i rushed there and found out that indeed it was true that the pregnant woman had been killed,” said the Sugoi area Chief while speaking to the press.
He said that according to neighbors there was a visitor who has come to visit the deceased and is suspected to have committed the crime.
“We have been told that the woman had received a visitor who stayed from 11 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon and it suspected that he is the person who committed the heinous crime,” chief Samoei added.
He said the deceased was cut several times on the neck, stomach and her eyes were removed.
“We have started investigations to know what happened, those who were involved, and why they did this heinous act to a pregnant woman. Those who were involved will be arrested and face the full force of the law,” he added.
The husband to the deceased is a KDF officer who is currently in Somalia for a peace mission.
Turbo Subcounty Police Commander Edward Masibo said the investigation has been commenced to determine what happened.
The body of the deceased was taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital while investigations are going on.
