Big Plus As Legislature Pledges Support For Road Works
Uasin Gishu County Executive for Roads, Transport and Public Works Engineer Joseph Lagat has thanked Members of the County Assembly for their pledge to support Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration in the implementation of quality infrastructure across the county.
Speaking in his office during a consultative meeting with MCAs on better strategies to fast-track the implementation of earmarked projects in their wards, Eng. Lagat said the support and commitment of county legislators has enabled the department to successfully realize its target during the grading exercise in the third quarter of the year.
“A lot has been done by the department in the third quarter of the financial year in the ongoing exercise of improvement of roads across the county, we expect as we move forward to do more work of graveling, drainage and installation of culverts so that by the time we have heavy rains we shall be having good roads for the residents to use,” said Eng. Lagat
Led by the leader of the majority, Hon. Julius Sang, the leaders asked the engineers working on various projects to report any challenges during their work, pledging to support them in the timely completion of the projects.
The Megun MCA said they will be available in their respective wards to monitor and offer necessary assistance during the implementation of the new projects noting that they were satisfied with the progress of the ongoing projects.
“We expect to see quality work and that contractors awarded tenders are working to beat date lines before the onset of heavy rains,” noted Sang.
Present during the meeting were MCAs Hon. Julius Songok(Tulwet/Chuiyat) and his Racecourse ward counterpart Hon. Amos Kiptanui.
