Bungoma Queens Extends Their Home Wins

Bungoma queens beat former Women premier league side Eldoret falcons 1-0 on Sunday at Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology grounds in division one women league.

Catherine Khaemba (pictured) scored the lone goal for Bungoma queens after controlling a lob pass from Winrose Wanyama.

The hosts controlled the game with several attacks, counter-attacks thrilling their fans who kept gasping for a celebration moment.

Six minutes of the playtime saw Ruth Nekesa drop a volley to her teammate Belinda Nafula who headed it inches passed the Falcons custodian.

A couple of minute later Nekesa set up a teammate Juliet Cheche from a right hand side cross which was hit outside the goal.
Edoret falcons’ attacker Miriam Ngotu beat Queens’s defenders and was heading for a clear goal only to hit the side net.

The visitors continued their goal search as Vanessa Opakasi 27th minute long shot hit the post before her teammate Mildred Atieno volley was tapped by the goal keeper in the 36th minute.

Another shot that hit the post came from Queens Bellinda Wafula cracker which came moments after halftime. The attacker kept on knocking on the Falcons goal post but defender Anne Njoki ruined most of her moves.

Bungoma queens Centrine Simiyu was sent off in the playing ground on the 77th minute after a rough tackle on falcons captain Loice Wafula.

Bungoma queens coach Jairus Juma was delighted for his teams performance and called upon organizations and local government to support the club that isb based at Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology.

“Today’s match was good and crucial but at the end we won .I am urging the county government of Bungoma to support us, since we have sought help from them and we are still waiting for the feedback, “said Juma.
