Residents of Bunyala Sub County benefited from a free medical camp organized by the County Government of Busia in collaboration with Jesus Power Celebration Centre Ministries (JPCC).

The event held at Siakula A village in Bunyala North Ward, gave locals an opportunity to get medical services including treatment of minor ailments, cervical cancer screening, family planning and Covid-19 vaccination.

The Deputy County Nurse Lucy Amai who represented the Department of Health and Sanitation said that the integrated outreach targeted to bring services closer to locals who cannot afford to visit hospitals.

‘It is cheaper for locals to get medical services through the integrated outreach considering that those in need are many,” she said, adding that it is a three-day event that will end on Wednesday 27th July, 2022.

Ms Amai added that apart from treatment, health education has also been given priority for the interest of those seeking medical attention.
The JPCC’s Bishop Kenneth Pamba said that the partnership will be of great benefit to the residents who have been experiencing difficulty in terms of accessing medical services.

“We know that our people get exposed to various diseases hence the need to help them. We are happy that we have very qualified healthcare workers who are very committed to their duties,” he said.
Beneficiaries of the exercise expressed gratitude to the County Government of Busia and JPCC for prioritizing their needs in terms of Health.

“We are very happy that services have been brought closer. Those who cannot afford to go to hospitals are able to get treatment for different ailments,” said Catherine Taka, a resident of Bunyala Sub County.
