Butula residents have assured Busia Deputy Governor, Moses Mulomi of their full support in his quest to succeed H.E Sospeter Ojaamong as the second Governor of Busia County.

The residents said this is a defining moment for them to capture the Governorship since the advent of devolution in 2013 where their sons have served as Deputy Governors.

H.E Moses Mulomi received warm reception when his convoy arrived in his Butula residence after being cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest the Governorship in the forthcoming polls.

Hundreds of ecstatic residents received their leader with Isikuti beats that electrified the residents who escorted him accompanied by his running mate CPA Tom Ipomai and other local leaders.
It was a moment of truth as residents danced to the Isikuti tune happy to receive the news that their son had finally been cleared to contest the August 9th, 2022 elections on DAP-K ticket.

At stop-overs in Teso Region, residents welcomed the move by IEBC to clear their son saying he has worked very well with the exiting Governor noting that focus was now on development by empowering the local community.

Addressing the crowd, H.E Mulomi told them that he was up to the task to deliver his mandate as the second governor.

” I have a running mate who is an accomplished project manager with several years of experience in the banking sector,” he said, assuring them that their vote is crucial in his bid to assent to the top office in the county.

He added:” I arrived from Zambia at a short notice to deputize H.E Ojaamong. I never stopped in many centres, I campaigned as an MCA but managed to deliver 15,000 votes. That aside, I have worked diligently without undermining him.”

Earlier, H.E Mulomi made several stop-overs in Teso South, Teso North, Nambale and Butula where he named several projects the county government had initiated, adding that those still under construction will be completed.

At Simba Chai, Mulomi promised to ensure the Cassava factory is up and running, adding that the construction of Ksh100 million modern two-storied building at Amukura Health Centre is completed that would elevate the Health Centre to Sub County Hospital.

” The Ksh100million fish ponds projects that was put on hold due to delayed release of funding, the same as poultry parks which he promised will be completed.
CPA Ipomai cautioned county residents against gambling with their votes, noting that they are not ready to go to the opposition, thus the need to elect H.E Mulomi.
