“WHEN THE BODY SAYS NO…
And tells you I have had enough, what do you do?
Pushing it further can get you to a burnout, a state that is not very productive.
This weekend I was in Tana River, at Life’s Frontier school. LIFE Ministry Kenya
I had great fear of the unknown two days prior, and worse, the thought of insecurity being talked about was all over me.
But I didn’t have a choice.
I had committed to be their guest speaker and I was not going to give up on this.
And yes, there were a lot of security checks along the way. My protocol team was
searched much as the officers wondered what they were up to.
My safety I guess as the only woman in the car, demanded they be more sensitive.
But guess what?
The moment I got to the School, my heart rejoiced.
The children were just a joy to behold.
The teachers, were the most loving people.
Not to mention, the parents, alumni and the community at large.
The political class and the administration was well represented too.
And when it was all over ,I felt like, thank God for giving me an opportunity to serve your people, for showing the young boys and girls, and their parents, in this marginalized community that it is possible, that education and hard work opens doors for you to sit with kings.
In our midst were kings almost literally.
And now that it’s a new day, I feel rejuvenated and am glad for the 2 days I was away from the city.
I now feel I need to enhance this feeling of restfulness.
So allow me my people to be off social media for the next 2 weeks.
This will be a time for some self-care, recharging, and focusing on me.
During this break, I’ll be investing in myself , spending quality time with God, my loved ones, and enjoying some much-needed offline moments.
Looking forward to coming back with fresh energy and exciting updates.
Until then, take care and stay awesome!
By the way did you know creating content is very energy consuming?
