Construction of Kitale Modern Market Underway
The construction of a modern market on Kitale Railways land, which will accommodate 1500 traders, is under construction.
The market will also include a Bus Park for Public Service Vehicles (PSV) plying on the Kitale – Endebess – Suam, Kitale – Namanjalala – Kwanza, Kitale – Maili saba – Kapenguria, and Kitale – Sibanga – Kachibora routes.
As a result, the main bus park will be decongested, resulting in decentralized businesses.
Once completed, Trans Nzoia Governor H.E George Natembeya intends to build another Sh100 million market at the same location due to available space and demand for conducive infrastructure for traders.
The projects received Sh100 million from the national government and Sh200 million from the county government.
Governor Natembeya has appealed to individuals who wish to start up or boost their business to take advantage of the Nawiri Funds.
